The Project in Arrameras in Albania was born in 1996 with the aim of reducing the dental pathology in the area through an assistance intervention promoted and supported, initially, by the SMOM Onlus Volunteer Doctors and, later, by a national operator introduced in the clinic. To date, this project sees the fruitful use of an Albanian dentist in the local clinic with a group of Italian dentists, who were formerly the protagonists of the SMOM Project in Arrameras, engaged in occasional supervision and refueling missions.
Activities
• Reduction of oral pathology in the area through primary and secondary prevention programs conducted by local staff and sent by SMOM;
• Educational programs for the prevention of oral diseases in school and non-school communities;
• Provision, when necessary, of therapies at the Maria Domenka clinic.
