Cambodia - School project in Pienc Roong

In a country that is still affected by the extermination of all cultural, religious and scientific intelligentsia carried out by the regime of Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge in the 1970s. The SMOM volunteers, initially called for a health intervention, after the exploratory mission preferred to support Father Alberto of PIME in his intervention for schooling, in a country where only 17 out of 100 children finish primary school. We preferred to start by offering the new school under construction that replaced the wooden one, desks, blackboards, school furniture, teaching aids, financial support to students and teachers. Organize an itinerant library to interest young Cambodians in reading.

Supported cost € 4,500 from the Microworld association € 1,500 and from the Parish of San Giovanni Gemini in the province of Agrigento € 3,000 which we thank together with Father Alberto, Missionary of PIME (Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions)
